Tiger America 5.5 c. Elec Rice Cooker/Food S ( JNP-1000 )

Features: Electronic control heating makes better rice. Built in carrying handle for safe and easy moving. Water level marks on inner surface of rice cooking bowl. Includes measuring cup, spatula, cooking and steamer pans. Indicator lights show whether cooking or warming mode is in use. Special keep-warm heating elements keep rice warm up to 12 hours. High quality double wall construction with locking top to seal in flavor. Non-stick PTFE coated rice cooking and steamer pans make clean-up easy. Retractable power cord reduces counter top clutter and stays attached for storage.

Tiger makes the best rice cookers. I've gone through a few rice cookers and they were all pretty terrible with either quality of the product itself or the cooked rice. Tiger is perfect, I'll never purchase any other brand again.

Tiger America 4 c. Elec Rice Cooker/Food Ste ( JNP-0720 )

I'm always amazed to see this product still being sold at local Chinese supermarkets and here on Amazon. I've used mine for over 15 years now and quite regularly in the past 5 years. I don't see the non-stick stuff coming off the cook bowl but over time, there will be some small particles of rice stuck on quite permanently. I don't scrub because it is a non-stick surface. I've seen this happen with other rice cookers so I'm not sure you can get around this by just purchasing another brand. You're probably better off buying a softer wood paddle for cheap available at most Chinese/Japanese markets. My dad just sanded off the rough edges of the plastic paddle that came with my cooker. I haven't replaced my rice bowl yet as it still releases rice just fine. Unfortunately, the price is also unmoved after all these years.

Tiger JAZ-A10U Electric Rice Cooker / Steamer (5.5 cups)

Tiger is known for great rice cookers. Usually their models are made in Japan, but this model is made in China and the price is low because of it. It cooks rice like any other rice cooker of Tiger's and I have had no problems with it. While its not fuzzy, this is a decent rice cooker, and the latest Tiger model.

Sanyo ECJ-F50S Micro-Computerized 5-Cup Rice Cooker and Steamer

I work for a Japanese owned company, so I did a little survey prior to purchasing a rice cooker. Of the many Japanese nationals working in my office the majority said that Sanyo was the preferred rice cooker for their families. They specifically recommended the ECJ-F50S model, by and large they all preferred Sanyo over Zojirushi. I look forward to using my new rice cooker, knowing that persons who eat rice three times a day (per their description, not mine) prefer this machine.

Sanyo ECJ-PX50S 5-Cup Micro-Computerized Pressure Rice Cooker and Steamer

We are a three-person East Asian household: My mother and I are Japanese, and my other half is Korean. Needless to say, we use this rice cooker at least five times a week, and have had it for about a year.

We've decided that eating brown rice instead of white rice about twice a week would be a healthy choice. The pressure cooker feature makes delicious brown rice (we use 2.5 cups regular Japonica brown rice mixed with 1.5 cups of sweet "mochi" brown rice nowadays). For the remainder of the week, we cook white rice, and it does a beautiful job. Once in a while, we make porridge -- the traditional Japanese remedy for when someone is sick -- which can be made excellently by this rice cooker. In that sense, we like all the features that this rice cooker offers, and it is really easy to operate.

I believe the titanium-coated thick inner pot is key to making this such a strong product; it seems to distribute heat evenly inside the pot. So, the problems that one might experience with cheaper or older pots -- like the bottom being slightly burnt ("okoge" in Japanese) -- or areas near the top being slightly undercooked -- does not happen. Rice from every part of the pot -- top, bottom, side and middle -- is cooked perfectly.

Sanyo ECJ-HC55S 5-1/2-Cup Micro-Computerized Rice Cooker and Slow Cooker, White

This cooker replaced the National fuzzy logic that I had used at least 3-4 times a week for 5 years. With all the new rice cookers on the market it was hard to find one that had the features that I wanted, without a bunch that I didn't need. I really don't need to bake a cake in my rice cooker!! What I use the most are the slow cooker options and the rice options. I mostly make short grain brown rice and this model cooks it much faster than my old National. I also loved that this cooker came with an extra pan and lid for the slow cooker...which makes it a great value.

If it is important for you to know the length of the cook cycles, I suggest that you time them the first time you use them because the instruction booklet does not give the times for the cycles. My old National would show the length of the cycle when you started each cycle, i.e. when using the regular cycle it would show 43 minutes on the clock. This cooker only shows the time left when it gets down around 15 minutes. The brown rice cycle cooks in 75 minutes. I cooked quinoa on the quick cycle the other day and it was done in approximately 30 minutes.

Another option I like on this model compared to the National is that, so far, the lid is easier to clean. The national used to bubble up through the steam vent and make a mess that was not easy to clean from the rubber gasket, but the Sanyo doesn't do that and the lid barely needs to be washed after cooking a batch of rice. I wish these types of cookers would make removable upper lids so that they could be kept cleaner.

I also love that this model has the slow cooker and that there is both high and low slow cook cycles.

This cooker is just right for a small family or couple, but if you generally cook for more than 3 people, I would recommend the larger model. I can make enough soup for 4 people if bread and salad were served, but it may only serve several people if they had large appetites. It definitely does not have enough room in the slow cooker to do large roasts.

Great value, great cooker, I highly recommend it.

Panasonic SR-TEG10 5-Cup Rice Cooker/Warmer/Steamer with Domed Lid

This is a very nice rice cooker and an excellent value. Unlike other rice cookers in the same price range, this cooker does as well with jasmine, calrose, basmati and brown rice as it does with white rice. No one likes mushy or crunchy rice, especially Kitchen Monkey Boy. Not a problem with this cooker.
It's definitely not the same quality as the high end cookers, but hey, you didn't pay $200 for it either. Shut up and eat your nummy rice!

Panasonic SR-TEG18 10-Cup Rice Cooker/Warmer/Steamer with Domed Lid

I was kind of skeptical in ordering this rice cooker because I have had a National Brand Rice Cooker for over 20+ years and it finally gave out. When I researched that Panasonic had bought out National, I thought that I would give it a try and I'm glad that I did. It cooks the rice perfectly and I like that it keeps the rice warm for up to 12 hours. It is very easy to use and cleaning is a breeze. This is the best purchase that I have made all year. I would highly recommend.

Panasonic SR-G10G 450-Watt 5-1/2-Cup Rice Cooker and Steamer

I bought this rice cooker 2 months ago.(after having a problem with my old nonstick rice cooker) The reason I chose this one because I don't like Taflon nonstick surface. It'd come off no matter how you took good care of it. So far, I'm very pleased with it.

I'm an Asain who eat rice everyday. I cooked as little as 2 cup or as much as 5 cup (full capacity). I never had any experience about rice stick in the bottom of the pot. However, you have to know the trick. Every time you cook rice, you have to let it stand in the pot for at least 10 to 15 minutes (after the cook button change to warm button) before taking rice out of the pot, as a result, rice will never stick. And for this price ($26.99), it's very worth my money for having perfect rice in every meal. Clean up is very easy, just soak the inner pot for several minutes before cleaning.

Sushi Chef Rice Cracker Mix, 5-Ounce Boxes (Pack of 6)

We used to love these but more recently couldn't find them at local supermarkets. Thanks, Amazon, for making this great product accessible again!

Sushi Rice Japanese style - 5 lb

I've tasted different rice varieties and this one is incomparable in taste and texture. Some of you may be skeptical but this special variety is short and plump but has a nice shine and not brittle when it is steamed. Also the texture is smooth as you eat it along with your favorite foods. Excellent for sushi. People who like their cooked rice a bit glutinuous will love this.

RiceSelect Sushi Rice, 36-Ounce Jars (Pack of 4)

I have used this rice to make sushi several times, and it always works great, though I usually have to cook it longer than the instructions say. In any case, the texture is perfect and sticky, and making sushi is well worth the effort--it's a crowd pleaser, as well as a fun thing to try with friends. Don't forget the rice vinegar!

Arrowhead Mills White Rice Flour, 32-Ounce , 2 Pound Bags (Pack of 4)

All natural. Naturally nutritious. White Rice, the symbol of life and fertility. The second largest world corp., rice is a staple food in Asia where, unlike most grains, it is grown on small paddies and harvested by hand - just as it has been for centurie

Texmati Long Grain American Basmati White Rice, 36-Ounce Jars (Pack of 4)

This rice is wonderful, and I love using it out of the container instead of rice that comes in a bag or a box. This rice is different from any other rice I have cooked with. The obvious comparison is Indian basmati rice -- long grain, fragrant, tasty -- but Texmati is not quite basmati. That means that Texmati is not perfect for Indian food, but it also means that it is really good. Actually, this Texmati is more flexible than classic basmati rice. You can use it with Chinese or Korean dishes. It works great in your favorite rice casseroles. I like to cook it in our ricemaker, then flavor it by adding a few fresh or frozen peas, a shake of our favorite herbs (dried basil, dried New Mexico oregano), and a swirl of olive oil mixed with Hungarian paprika. Or stir in a little finely chopped cilantro and parsley. I like to finish my serving with a sprinkle of ground red chile flakes. Now we're talkin' fusion. Texmati is a great foundation for fusion dishes based on rice. You will not regret trying this rice.

GoGo Rice White Rice Bowl, Organic, Microwaveable, 7.4 Ounce Bowls (Pack of 12)

This is the best tasting rice! Much better than any instant rice, and much better tasting than the sacks of frozen rice at the store. My husband was very skeptical about my praise of gogo rice -- then I made some for him and he LOVES it. The microwavable pouch rice in the grocery store has an aftertaste -- this does NOT! It tastes like it came out of the rice cooker.

A Taste of Thai Coconut Ginger Jasmine Rice, 7-Ounce Boxes (Pack of 6)

Made with jasmine rice. Real Thai, real easy. Authentic Thai Taste: Now it's easy to enjoy the true flavors of Thailand. We started with our famous Jasmine Rice, then added coconut, ginger and other classic Thai spices. And it takes just one pot. Whether on the stove or in the microwave, it's real Thai, real easy. Preservative free. MSG free. Gluten free. Produced in Thailand.

Casbah Saffron Jasmine Rice, 7-Ounce Boxes (Pack of 12)

Bought this for a friend who is crazy about this rice and can never find it in her grocery stores.

All natural pilaf mix. Terrific with yogurt. Low fat. Experience the marriage of wondrous saffron and fragrant jasmine rice, a flavor combination that has delighted palates for millennia. It is a timeless culinary treasure from the Mediterranean world. We use the highest quality jasmine rice as well as premium saffron, the costliest spice in the world. Enjoy this pilaf as a side dish with cold tart yogurt, or make a great paella with fresh veggies: mushrooms, broccoli, peas, olives, peppers and beans. Come to Casbah where natural foods are in good taste.

Roland Premium Jasmine Rice from Thailand, 20-Pound Bag

I am not a rice connoisseur and the Roland Thai Jasmine Rice is the first type of Jasmine rice I have ever tasted. To me, this rice looks like Basmati rice (long and thin grains). It cooks pretty well (turns fluffy) and fast in the microwave. I add 2 cups of water for every cup of rice - and the cooked rice looks like cooked Basmati rice! The rice tastes good too although I have to say I prefer the taste of real Basmati Rice.

Tasty Bite Sprouts Curry & Basmati Rice, 12-Ounce Boxes (Pack of 6)

Heats up well in the office microwave and very tasty! This is one of my favoriate packaged Indian meals. I love that these meals have no preservatives and I can recognize all the contents by name. This one is high in fiber (12 grams), and not too high in fat for me (6 grams, of which 1 saturated). And, the serving size for this meal is the entire package, which is very filling! For only 363 calories!

Arya Supreme Quality Basmati Rice, 10-lbs Bag

We have been eating this rice for past 8 years and the rice has absolute consistent quality and texure every time we make it. We have been buying this from an ethnic store but now Amazon has the rice at even a better price.

This rice is grown in the foothills of Himalayas (Mt Everest)and is enriched with minerals and natural Aroma. We have cooked many dishes including some Tea Rice and they are to die for. We would highly recommend this brand of Rice for your entire family.

Newman's Own®Organics Turkey & Brown Rice Formula For Dogs, 12.7-Ounce Tins (Pack of 12)

My vet gave him a prescription diet which helped him tremendously but he HATED it and wouldn't eat it until he just couldn't stand being hungry any more. With my vet's okay, I started mixing just a little of other types of canned food with the prescription but after a few days I could see he wasn't feeling well and his problems began to return. Finally, I picked up a can of Newman's organic and mixed that with his prescription. Not only did he like it, he was fine! I can't give him this alone - he still must have the prescription - but as long as it is at least half the prescription mixed in, he can eat it every day and he is fine! I was so happy! And so was my little dog!

Lundberg Wild Blend, Gourmet Blend of Wild and Whole Grain Brown Rice, 16-Ounce Bags (Pack of 6)

I'm really a white rice kinda person - raised on it, like it. As my tastes matured I learned how much more flavor there is to be had -- basmati, jasmine...in white rice, jasmine is my favorite. I started trying to eat better several years ago, but never truly learned to appreciate brown rice. Instead, I ended up mostly cutting rice from my diet. Now that I have found Lundberg Wild Blend, rice is back in the lineup. I look forward to the nights when this is one of the sides. It has a nutty taste, yes, but also a bit of sweetness. We love it!

Thought that this would be just another pretty rice blend, but it's become the "only" rice I make anymore. It has a subtle nutty flavour that combines well with any seasoning. The different textures you experience when eating are wonderful. I highly recommend this blend to anyone. Add a rice pilaf recipe, a wooden spoon, and you have a great gift.

GoGo Rice Steamed Brown Rice Bowl, Organic, Microwaveable, 7.4-Ounce Bowls (Pack of 12)

I'm a bit of a health nut and I've always known I should eat brown rice but I never could get it right. It was always too hard or too..something.

This product takes seconds to prepare, the serving size is more than generous and the rice has an extremely pleasant, nutty flavor. Definitely a good buy.

I really like this product. Easy to store (no fridge needed) and easy to make (1.5 minutes on high microwave)! Organic great tasting brown rice. Organic is a plus! I highly reccomend this.

I think this is a great product. So easy. Makes perfect, still chewy, brown rice
that would take an hour otherwise. I love it. I find so many ways to use it.
Even eat it for breakfast with milk and maple syrup.
