I love brown rice. The rest of my family, not so much. So I serve this and everyone eats it happily. It has a wonderful fragrance as it cooks, and when it's done cooking, the texture is more like white rice than brown rice. It absorbs flavorings beautifully. (I use it to make my own yellow rice, which is healthier than the msg- and sodium-filled boxes in the supermarket. Comment here if you want my easy recipe.)

At Whole Foods they sell a rice salad which I really like but it's $11 a pound !! so I decided to make it myself. That is how I became familiar with Lundberg Farms. This blend or Countrywild will do. Simply cook the rice as directed then stir in 1/4 cup of chopped pecans and 1/4 cup of golden raisins after removing the rice from the heat. Leave it covered for 10 minutes. It's delicious.

But Texmati has all the fragrance of basmati rice, the fiber of brown rice and it comes in a wonderful clear square plastic jar that is great for filling with beans or popcorn when it is empty. This rice smells like pecans when cooking and tastes great. You can cook it up as pilaf with raisins, almonds and chicken or vegetable broth for a delicious side dish. Try it also by browning it in olive oil with a half cup of orzo per cup of rice and then make pilaf with broth. It is delicious.

This is a special type of brown rice that adds pizazz to any meal. It's almost as special as wild rice: dark, very aromatic and has a dense, crunchy texture. Use about 2 cups water for each cup of rinsed dry rice (you can add a bit of butter for true luxury). Cook over a low flame; it may take a bit longer, but it's worth it. I don't use salt because I find the flavor satisfactory without it. If you find the rice is too crunchy for your taste, you can add a bit more water at the end of the cooking and heat gently.

As someone who has always loved pasta, living gluten free for the past year has been extremely frustrating. I've tried countless types of pasta, including corn pasta, rice pasta and an interesting corn/navy bean blend pasta and the Tikyada Brown Rice pastas (NOTE: I particularly like the ones with rice bran - it's noted on the label) have been the best that I've had. I actually served it to someone the other day who doesn't live GF and he didn't notice a difference between that and regular pasta. I do, however, find that I don't need to cook it as long as it says on the package. I shorten the cooking time by about 2-4 minutes usually and just keep checking to see when it is done. They go very well with GF vodka sauce. Enjoy!

My vet gave him a prescription diet which helped him tremendously but he HATED it and wouldn't eat it until he just couldn't stand being hungry any more. With my vet's okay, I started mixing just a little of other types of canned food with the prescription but after a few days I could see he wasn't feeling well and his problems began to return. Finally, I picked up a can of Newman's organic and mixed that with his prescription. Not only did he like it, he was fine! I'm really a white rice kinda person - raised on it, like it. As my tastes matured I learned how much more flavor there is to be had -- basmati, jasmine...in white rice, jasmine is my favorite. I started trying to eat better several years ago, but never truly learned to appreciate brown rice. Instead, I ended up mostly cutting rice from my diet. Now that I have found Lundberg Wild Blend, rice is back in the lineup. I look forward to the nights when this is one of the sides. It has a nutty taste, yes, but also a bit of sweetness. We love it!

Thought that this would be just another pretty rice blend, but it's become the "only" rice I make anymore. It has a subtle nutty flavour that combines well with any seasoning. The different textures you experience when eating are wonderful. I highly recommend this blend to anyone. Add a rice pilaf recipe, a wooden spoon, and you have a great gift.

I'm a bit of a health nut and I've always known I should eat brown rice but I never could get it right. It was always too hard or too..something.

This product takes seconds to prepare, the serving size is more than generous and the rice has an extremely pleasant, nutty flavor. Definitely a good buy.

I really like this product. Easy to store (no fridge needed) and easy to make (1.5 minutes on high microwave)! Organic great tasting brown rice. Organic is a plus! I highly reccomend this.
